I’ve seen the largest majority of layoffs related to marketing functions
Agreed, they’re the most disposable at our company as well.
Yeah like, one person gets fired and they say “layoffs are here!”
Looking at the latest jobs report, it’s fairly apparent that hiring is red hot and no company is willing to get rid of their talent
D1, clearly layoffs are happening. You regurgitate jobs report on every possible thread like you wrote it yourself, yet fail to recognize the nuance clearly shown by the large number of layoffs.
God I wish I had that kind of job that pays 6 figures just to attend meetings lmao
Yeah right now I make 80k (Canadian) in my company lol so I'm hoping I get a nice raise when performance reviews are done
Useless jobs. A lot of them in fluff positions across HR, Marketing and niche positions like “DEI”.

From what I saw during the 2020 Covid recession, our marketing and training teams were the ones most affected. They suffered layoffs. People making over a certain amount got a 10% pay reduction. Everyone else just got pay freezes for a year. A pay freeze is way better than being without a job lol
