If it was 100% an accent-related "error," I cannot imagine you getting fired over it. I would push back on the legality of that, but that doesn't seem fair at all. This sounds like something that happened in the past. So, what ended up happening?

I had a meeting with my team manager and group manager because it felt unfair. They both agreed that the company went too far by marking it as a fail. Since I was one of their top performers, they promised me that they would raise it with higher management to try and have it reversed but, unfortunately that never happened.
What was the sentence?

It was about a premium credit card and said, “It can impose higher card acceptance costs on merchants" and they said i did not read ‘costs' properly.
Getting penalized for something like an accent feels unfair and totally off. Language nuances can trip anyone up, but when it’s about compliance, companies get extra sensitive. If it were me, I’d ask for clear guidance or training on tricky terms, and maybe suggest audio versions to catch mispronunciations before they become “issues.” No one should feel threatened over how they speak

I never had any issues with my pronunciation until they marked me as failed. I didn’t want that to happen again, so I practiced saying the word correctly. But it honestly gave me goosebumps and I kept thinking, what if it happens again with a different word?
That’s so frustrating! It’s crazy how something as small as an accent or mispronunciation can be blown out of proportion. No one should feel like their accent is a problem—it's part of who they are. You did your job, and that should be enough.
