What kind of jobs are out there after one year at the big 4? Familiar with investment fund accounting and corporations. Looking for something a 9-5, maybe 6 or 7 at the latest, but still interesting.
Anyone made a transition from FAANG to B4 or MBB at PPMD level? I understand that culture and WLB is different... but was the transition hard or easy? I am a senior leader with FAANG and exploring options. My background is in sales, delivery, solutions development etc, MBA and MS. Thank you.
I'm a young (under 30) SM at Big 4 & like everyone here would like to make the move to MBB. I recognize a title change is likely but I don't care about titles. My question is how to make the change?
What is life like after 10/15 for Big 4 Tax? Can you take long vacations (3weeks - 1 month) after 10/15?
Big 4 Senior Manager here. Got rejected from McK after I had 2 itws last week. Applied for a "Cyber / Digital / Technology" position which turns out to be marketing for the Generalist track (cont'd)
Thinking about making the jump to B4, but it seems like they aren't looking for senior right now...what gives? Thought everyone needed seniors
Current situation: at early stages of my career in finance in Australia. Have 2 offers on the table What would you choose? Analyst at a start up (potential to move up the ladder quickly) OR Senior analyst at a big 4 (looks good on the resume)
Non-US / UK consulting partners - I have been long following the posts here. What I realise is that the US partners feel very strongly that being a B4 partner is best opportunity once could have (maybe just followed by FAANG). With the $1M+ pay and a pension, potentially it makes a lot of sense. With no pensions and some of start ups, Tech companies paying more in other countries, global roles (vs local focus) - what are your views about considering opportunities outside B4
ORM 730 GMAT T30 UG 3.4 GPA Finance/Marketing, 2 YOE B4 Consulting (Not tech), 2 YOE B4 Audit prior. Strong ECs working with our citizenship group and leading internal social impact/NPO engagement teams. Chances at M7?
Which areas pays more than Big 4. Techo/Functional Background. SM here. I should have known but can’t seem to find. All I can think is another Big 4 :(
Looking to move into more traditional consulting at BCG. I have 4 yrs exp in industry (pharma) 2 years @ Big 4 all in Program Management. Any advice? Any MBB folks who would let me pick their brain?
Are there decent exit opportunities for B4 indirect tax (technical/legal side) in the tech industry? Would it be better to leave at Senior or manager? How does it compare to international tax exit ops to tech?
In middle market TAS, but considering a jump up to Big 4. Is the name on resume worth the 75+ hours a week.
MBB, and particularly Big 4 fish - How much of your time do you spend on internal marketing of your services, internal recruitment to your service line? None, Some, Much or Lot.
Tax/Audit big4: how old is too old to change offices within the same big 4 (doing the same role)?
Hi All, Can you please give some idea about the salary expectations from Accenture for AWS devops position of 3+ yoe. I am having a offer letter from TCS(8 lpa) for same role. TIA🙏
Hello. I work at a mid size erp/epm consulting firm and my base salary is not comparable to big4s. I currently make a TC of 105k with two years of consulting experience. I asked for a raise last month and now my TC will be pumped up to 126k at the end of year. I have been poached by many consulting firms and some are offering 135-150k TC. I have a masters degree in data science and 4 years of working experience. Does it make sense for me to look around even after I asked for a raise?
Has anyone taken one of those online executive courses, like the Harvard Extension School offers? Looking to use my $5k of tuition reimbursement and already have an MBA. Worth it? Best programs?
LEK, Kearney, Accenture, Deloitte, Oliver Wyman. Which would you choose out of university and why? I want to optimize broad exit opps and comp
Is there a good way to avoid signing up for new major responsibilities at current role if you’re actively job searching / interviewing? I feel like I’m close to an offer (in the next week) but my manager just added me as a sole resource to a new project. I feel like they’re counting on me and I would be screwing them over. Trying to balance being engaged at work while actively job searching. I like my team and don’t want to burn any bridges!
Argonaut has laid off a bunch of their old guard people. Revolving door swinging mostly one way- and that’s out.
From talking to students at multiple M7 schools, it seems like all of the BB/MBB/FAANG companies recruit at most if not all of the schools . So if you're planning on recruiting for one of these, is there really a major difference in career opportunities between each school? Asking because it seems like some schools are specifically known for finance vs consulting vs tech, but if the companies are all recruiting at all these schools, the differences don't seem as pronounced to me.
A break from COVID....let’s daydream for a minute... Say you are back on your regular travel schedule, what would be one thing you wish existed that would make traveling better for you?
MBB 🐠 what are some of the craziest networking stories you have of people reaching out to you? Did they get an interview?
How is AppliedAI Course for Machine learning ? I am fresher with 1 year of intern experience, and planning to switch to Data science domain. Should I go with this course or any other course would be better option?
When it's only been three working days since an interview but you're so hyped about the job you have zero patience in waiting to hear back and suddenly everything's doomsday when you think about it 😰
I am looking to change job have 9 years of experience in Project Management and Business Analysis, looking for a role in NY either in Banking or Consulting. Please let me know of any leads?
Any positive job changes after becoming a mom? I'm having a bit of trouble deciding which direction I want to pivot my career. Yes I want to do work that is fulfilling but I also want to find a role that allows me to balance my life as a mother, especially during Covid. Being at my current agency does not offer that and I assume is the norm for most agencies.
Thoughts? Which is more competitive for HSW MBA: Stay on 1 year and get promoted to manager at MBB (3 YOE at promotion) or exit as an associate to a top PE fund but forgo the manager promotion? Hoping to differentiate my app and could always try and exit after promo but aiming to apply in 2023 and would have very limited time in the new role
Hi, A tech company in Abu Dhabi is looking for people with 1-2 years of experience in strategy from MBB/Tier 2 to join the Strategy & Operations team. Very competitive salary, good wlb and exposure. DM me if interested.
My one year at first out of college job is coming up, despite conditions - should I still ask for a raise and a formal virtual performance review. (It is a small firm and they will avoid it if I don’t bring it up). The firm has been making the same if not more profits than they usually would. Thanks!
How do you guys have fun on Solo travel? SO can't get time off from work and I still want to explore. Gadventures looked interesting - anyone done it before?
