Thought this was interesting. Across 160 teams of researchers, just about all failed to make good life outcome predictions on things like GPA, evictions, layoffs, and others. Data followed 4.5k families across 15 years, with 13k features (varied over time). Haven't looked at it directly yet, but will be turning the docs and data inside out... In the meantime, authors claim this as showing the limits of ML. Oh, and it's published in PNAS, so you know there's some big publication energy there.

I actually think mentioning that you've used ChatGPT as a tool to enhance your coding skills can show your resourcefulness and willingness to learn. Just frame it as part of your process, emphasizing your ability to leverage technology for problem-solving (so frame it that way). Sounds like you might be second-guessing yoruself a lot right now so I'd try to get in a more confident mindset for the interview!!
Just say, "I know SQL - SELECT, WHERE, FROM, GROUP BY, DESC and anything more, I usually google or chatgpt." Tailor that answer to your python or whatnot. Always worked for me.
I interviewed for a senior leadership position at a large spark based data platform where I wouldn't have had to write a line of code as part of the role. I had 2 deep technical interviews that required me to solve a problem with code. Told the company I don't write code anymore but from a problem-solution issue I can solve it with an LLM. They were totally cool with it, I walked them thru my process each time. I got to the final and they told me the role had changed and required coding. Told them I am not interested but was invited back to interview for a more senior position that is opening up in the next few months. Just tell them your position on the issue and how you are going to proceed. They will be ok with it, or they won't, but they will respect you.
"I don't write code anymore" ... that's such a great answer. Agree that walking through thought process is key
It would be if I was the interviewer. If SQL and Python are listed as keys skills, I assume a certain level of skill is required. You maybe able to mention how you leveraged GPT or Co-Pilot as an extension of your skills but not the foundation. Study up and gain a basic level of understanding of both.
It would be suicide don’t use AI
Most SQL tests will likely will check ability to write window functions and CTEs vs sub queries. Be sure to know how to answer these also.
How long is the interview? Do you think they will ask you very technical questions?
Yes.
Don’t try and cheat the interview process
