Perks like recognition or flexibility help in the short term, but they don’t offset stagnant pay. I’ve had high-visibility projects before, but without a raise, it feels more like cheap retention than real growth.

hat’s exactly how I feel. Recognition and perks are nice, but without a raise, it doesn’t feel like real growth. High-visibility projects are exciting, but they shouldn’t come at the cost of fair compensation.

Personally for me those perks are more important than pay. I took a huge drop in pay for my current work (since had promotions) , purely because of the work life balance and it’s the best decision I’ve ever made

That makes sense. Work-life balance can be worth so much more than a bigger paycheck. Glad it’s been the right move for you!!!
