So I've had 2 hiring managers and several recruiters from Amazon reach out to me about applying for some open positions with the company (android). I completed the coding assessment and now they want me to go through a round of 5 hour interviews next week. Is there a good chance I'll be hired if engineering managers are reaching out to me? I'm really not sure how badly I want to work for them and I don't want to be laid off months after being hired on. Anyone know what Amazon hiring is like?

Oh no that's terrible! I hope you land on your feet and can find something soon. If they gave you a redundancy payout of similar maybe you can use it to subsidise a lower pay for a while?
Sorry to hear that! Companies are just heartless in how they handle things, it's like loyalty counts for nothing these days. One thing to attend to is make sure you get your unemployment benefits set up right away. I was laid off years ago and hesitated to do that, as I thought I wouldn't need them, and that was a dumb mistake. It's important to get that money coming in.
No I was going to retire in 6 years but not sure that will happen
I am so sorry to hear that. The job market is rough, I won't lie to you. Hang in there and try to gather referrals to help you get your foot in the door. Best of luck to you.

Just goes to show you companies don’t care for you at all. I hope it works out for you because it’s tough out here.

I’m really sorry you’re going through this. With your experience, you have a lot of value to offer—even if the next role doesn’t match your previous salary right away, your skills and knowledge will open doors. It’s tough, but you’re not out of options.
