Hard agree. Easy access to grocery stores and outdoor space, walkable to the national mall and Eastern Market, quick drive to VA and MD, multiple metro lines, quiet at night but lively during the day. Nice apartments that are much more affordable than NW. What's not to like?

I'm convinced that people who like to hate on navy yard have been to like one Nats game and ate at Buffalo Wild Wings and are now convinced they are the expert at determining how much the neighborhood is like Clarendon.
If you like gentrified neighborhoods with very unique stores like Whole Foods and all luxurious apartments that look the same, navy yard is great
Oh and SC2 I know exactly what you’re talking about too being EOTR haha. We are happy w it over here though. Most of what people worry about is over dramatized I feel. Stuff does happen but usually happens between people who know each other. People don’t bother us and we don’t have any issues here
Is Navy Yard known for being republican leaning? Hard to believe in DC.
On another note, I am actively considering that area, it is beautiful.

Yes, absolutely. A few months ago, I ran into a “red” neighbor who worked for the old administration and she was preparing to move back home to Georgia

Been here 10 years and Navy Yard feels like a theme park, not like the rest of the city

Soccer fields with regular pick up games, easy access to sports venues (Chinatown, Audi, nats park). Anthem is tied for my favorite music venue with 930 club. I’ve also phased out of the u st/h st/DuPont bar scenes so it works for me.
From a work perspective, my big civilian agency clients are in SW.

Completely agreed, except SW waterfront is better (even before they built it up). And I am a republican. Glad we can agree on something
SA1 - used to live in SW and loved it. Just a couple blocks from Wharf, National Mall, quiet but still convenient. If I didn’t buy a place around downtown would have stayed

The open space there is fantastic. Easy access to the trails and green space makes it worth it. Only gripe is that Bardo has a great location for a brewery, but their beer tastes like ass. The worst I have ever had in over 2000 unique beers.

Navy Yard - where two teenagers can stun gun and kill an Asian Uber driver and avoid jail time!
They were 13 and 15 so they plea bargained their way to jail/juve until they’re 21.
Can’t believe people that young would do that. Sad to see.

OP here again...just wanted to share that the most gorgeous double rainbow appeared in my backyard yesterday. I took it as a sign for better days ahead! :)
