I was rated a "strong performer" after my annual review. My manager spent the whole time praising my work, but then I only got a 4% raise. I went from $74k to $77k, but I was expecting to hit $80k based on the feedback. Is a 4% bump normal for a higher rating?

OP, set your bar low so you won't be disappointed. This is what I've learned in my years. Unfortunately your reality is NOT mgmt's reality. Get your certs, gain more experience and then leave. Money bumps happen when jumping ship, not staying on the same ship (rarely does it happen).

Hi. I have applied for a job in an academic setting for a leadership role in cancer research. Duties would have me responsible for a small team of research nurses as well as other managerial duties for the department. I have been a research nurse for 3 years now, but I have no experience applying for a salaried position or a role in leadership. What sort of salary would be appropriate to ask for? I know that I should aim high and let them counter, but how high exactly? Thanks I’m advance

Anyone here work in-house? 2nd year associate, aiming to get an in-house role at a startup or smaller company and thinking of getting CIPP certified.

I have heard privacy is a big issue for companies these days and am wondering if it is worth getting certified to stand out. I have been doing M&A and PE work before so I do not have any applied privacy experience (but I think it’s really interesting).

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Anyone who has/ heard of fbookers who successfully switched roles and gotten a promotion (L3 to L4)?

Context I am planning a switch from analyst to data scientist from a non US location to US. However, L4 is needed for this jump (prob due to visa issues). With the current revamp in PSC cycle, I am not sure if I can successfully get promoted by next year and make the jump. To do so, I heard there needs to be 2 EE (for this half and next half).
