Anyone here work in-house? 2nd year associate, aiming to get an in-house role at a startup or smaller company and thinking of getting CIPP certified.

I have heard privacy is a big issue for companies these days and am wondering if it is worth getting certified to stand out. I have been doing M&A and PE work before so I do not have any applied privacy experience (but I think it’s really interesting).

So, a recruiter gave me feedback that my lack SPHR or SHRM-SCP is causing my resume to be knock out by AI and human recruiters despite my position and work history in Multinationals and being in Technology. They suggested that we put SPHR ( Lapsed). I let it lapse in 2017. What is your opinion? Plus if I were to take another certification - should I take SPHR or SHRM-SCP?

I wanted to practice cyberlaw and could not get anyone to hire me nor get enough business on my own to sustain me. I’m working in a completely different area of law and while I really enjoy it, it doesn’t challenge me. Any tips on how to build up this area of my practice- especially privacy law?
