I was removed from an apprenticeship six months ago due to competency gaps but passed my exams. During that time, I became interested in audit after seeing my peers in the field. With 5-6 months of outsourcing experience (plus training) but no audit experience, can I apply for school leaver audit roles, or do firms prefer candidates with none? While awaiting updates, should I apply for accounting assistant roles? I’ve also been upskilling with Excel and virtual audit experiences.
