I was told, “You are so good at handling pressure.” But no one asked if I wanted to be. I think praise can trap you in unhealthy expectations. What compliment at work felt more like a red flag?

I feel the same way about being told I’m “super mom” when I’ve been having a tough time with the baby. Some days I don’t want to have to be super mom, I just want to be regular mom 🫠😭

I get that completely — sometimes the “super” label feels more like pressure than praise. Being allowed to just be without the extra expectations can be such a relief.

That’s like a backhanded compliment - like some situations I’ve either been in or heard it’s like “your brilliant at this, I’ll pile more work on you etc” like thanks for the compliment, but no thanks to piling on the pressure and excessive workload.

Like when someone asks for you to make them a cup of tea/coffee and adds 'you make such a good one'.

My wife and I just had our second child, and we have also been dealing with her cervical cancer diagnosis. It has been a stressful year, to say the least. I want to do something nice for her, but money is tight right now because of the cancer treatment costs, and her being on unpaid leave because of the cancer treatments. What is something low cost I can do that will be a nice “couples thing” so we can de-stress, but also make her feel special?

Hi fellow fish need some advice.

I'm planning a wedding and wondering if I should apply for new credit cards to maximize on points. If so, wondering what your recommendations are and or if there are new cards out there I haven't heard of yet. For context I probably have another 20k+ in expenses to pay still and my current cards are:

CSP
Marriott Bonvoy Boundless
Citi double cash
Random card (used to be uber)

Hi All,

I have 4 yrs of exp as full stack developer and my current CTC is 15 lpa and notice period is of 3 months. I got an offer from another firm for 24lpa but they have shared the offer letter of DOJ after 2 months and asked me to negotiate my notice period or look for buyout. What should I do in this case? Should I connect with my current hr to negotiate? Cause I tried convincing the new hr to share the offer letter of DOJ after 3 months but she is not in the favour of that.
