Journalism is the best job in the world but I feel like people are less likely to take my work seriously because I am female. So it's like they automatically think the only things I would be good at writing about are fluffy little human interest stories. I'm just a reporter like everyone else. Is there some way I can tell my supervisor that yes, I do like those stories, but I like being a serious reporter even more?

The argument that climate change is not man-made has been disproven by science over and over again, yet many people believe that the global crisis is either not real, not of our making, or both, in part because the news media deliberately chooses not to talk about it because it doesn't sell enough.

"Don't Look Up" is as real as it can be.

I'm a reporter with more than 32 years of experience and I feel that, lately, local television news has been kind of dead, but I am pleased to fight for it from my local newspaper. Locals love to see someone from their own town succeeding or finding out something inspiring.

I am a firm believer that this will not change for a long time, local TV will continue to live as long as we stand for it.
