Human interest stories might not be where the money is, but making the switch has saved my sanity after the tragedy I’ve covered the past few years.

we all need a little wholesomeness in our lives, people like you are doing the lord's work

I'm not covering those kinds of stories and I'm still not getting that much money so at least you're doing the kind of work that you find fulfilling hahah

Sometimes all we need is a little change in our lives. I used to be miserable working for my previous publication. The management was mediocre and self-interested, no one really wanted to be there and it was overall a crappy place to work at. So happy I switched to freelancing since now I only work on projects that spark excitement

With the direction news has been heading the past few years, I find myself spending much more time reading the positive human interest stories than anything else.

Greetings from Madison, Wisconsin. I'm a reporter with more than 32 years of experience and I feel that, lately, local television news has been kind of dead, but I am pleased to fight for it from my local newspaper. Locals love to see someone from their own town succeeding or finding out something inspiring.

I am a firm believer that this will not change for a long time, local TV will continue to live as long as we stand for it.
