Hello! Will be receiving a $400 stipend from my new org for office setup. I currently have a 15” 2015 Pro, my husband has a Lenovo, I’ll be provided with a work laptop, we have a used office desk.

Any recommendations on what I should use the stipend for? Hubby was suggesting a printer because we don’t currently have one, but I feel like I don’t really print that much anymore and I’ll be working remotely.

#1 ergonomic desk chair always. Your body will thank you in the short and long term.

#2 larger monitor to avoid eye strain plus second screen if preferred.

#3 adjustable desk so height can be changed for each user’s best ergonomic fit. They have them on Amazon with electric motor to adjust sitting through standing heights. You can also create presets if you & partner are different heights just like drivers seats in cars. Wide range of costs from a few hundred on up.

Standing desk

Standing desk, second monitor, good chair.

No reason for printer, we hardly use ours and there is scanning options on phones now and it's so cheap to print at staples or a library so minimally used. Really a good chair since you'll be at home a lot, and a desk that can sit or stand.

There's some desks that are like convertibles

Upgrade to a standing desk!

Samsung curved monitor and a comfy chair or seat pad, working from the couch at the beginning of covid ruined my back

Monitor and standing desk.

Extra wide monitor

That is nice that you get that stipend. I would really suggest a good chair if you don't have one already. Espcially when you are sitting all day.

Perhaps a docking station. They run at least $100.

Okay so, its been a while since I've been seeing this in Linkedin:
The Job requirement says its Entry Level, but the experience it requires is always 6 year+... like how would a fresher match that.. should I've started coding at 6th grade or what?

I understand that it's a way of "SEO" in LinkedIn but it just discourages us freshies.

Actually not sure if this post belongs in this bowl but.. it is what it is?
P.s. I still apply to these because what's the worst that could happen... right?

Overall they are both in the 75th% for total comp. for their industry. Am I wrong?

I was just curious what other Employers/HR Professional have done. Any information is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks

Hi all!
Would love some insight on how you went from an HR assistant/coordinator to an HR Generalist. I’ve been in the HR world for 8 years, and only in the last 2-3 have I really done real HR work. The first company I was at didn’t have a solid HR team so I don’t really count that. I feel like I’m ready to take on more responsibility and learn more. And of course make more money.

I have looked into getting SHRM certification. But should I go back to school and get my masters in Hr?
