My spouse is into programming and has Masters Any suggestion how my spouse can increase chances of getting hired (e.g. get training certifications, apply as trainee, or probably you can refer me to companies who are considerate for immigrants). I noticed he started to feel a little bit depressed about it.

My current company is “taking me off payroll” but instead of laying me off or firing me, are fully expecting me to take up an hourly contractor position for $30/hour with no specified time or guarantee of hours. How do I respectfully tell them no?
