If you're looking for a part-time job, or a summer job, you might think about stores in your area that you'd like to work for. And go ahead and apply. Most big places now require you to apply online, but you could also ask in the store if it's more of a local organization. There might be other places besides stores, give some thought to what kind of work you'd really want to do and go for that.

I’d say the typical entry level jobs like fast food, grocery stores, some restaurant jobs as well.

Playing high level sports for that long actually says a lot about discipline, teamwork, and coachability. Those translate well to roles like operations, warehouse, fulfillment, facilities, or back of house positions where reliability matters more than public speaking. You might also look at campus roles tied to athletics or recreation since that aligns with your background.

You have a lot of skills from sports—teamwork, discipline, time management—that employers value. Look for jobs in retail, hospitality, tutoring, or entry-level office roles. Anything with clear tasks and teamwork rather than constant public speaking will suit you. Even internships or volunteer work can help build experience for the future.
My advice is to avoid fast food like the plague, because it is such a stressful environment to work in for basically no money. I would be looking for a cashier position, or a stock position in a grocery store or something.
