Hi Fellow fishes, I had an hr discussion with amdocs and during salary negotiation they told we can't give more than 11 lpa, they told it's the last offer and didn't negotiate at all. My current CTC is 7 lpa and YOE: 3 years. How can I renegotiate with them. Will they not process my offer letter if I ask them to reconsider? P.S. : I really want to join amdocs. Amdocs

For a 50% work load this feels pretty damn good
Just realized part time NEP is a thing. I’d like that so I can take care of my baby. Wow
There's a lot of flexibility! These responses are making me appreciate my role more.
I would kill to make 475 billing only 1350

I have a very similar gig, so I feel you. Overall it’s a great gig but the stress is intense at times.
How did you land a part time NEP gig? Dream role!
I was at the firm for a few years full-time hitting hours as an associate, after I became NEP I reduced my schedule. I think a bit easier to do at that level successfully because you have more control over your schedule. Largely depends on whether your team respects it. I know folks who love it, and others who felt like they were still working a ton.

I think the reality is that part-time folks will just never get good bonuses. The bonuses are really designed to reward people who want to bill more.
I've looked into moving to boutiques with lower hour goals and base is usually scaled more or less to big law part-time base but bonuses are much smaller. Maybe I haven't been looking at the right ones!
You are living my dream right now! I’m a NEP planning to try to go reduced hours after I get back from maternity leave with my second. I would be very happy with this comp/hours arrangement.
Sounds like a great set up. How many YOE do you have? In addition to incentivizing billing more hours, bonuses more generally also incentivize you to stay put (keep your client relationships, keep you as a mentor for associates, keep your experience/skills). So even if they say you’re not billing more so your bonuses are less (which it sounds like isn’t even the case!), there are other reasons to merit increasing bonuses. If you haven’t already, consider negotiating a “true up” for any future years when you may exceed your % threshold.
(The above is based on conversations with my part-time mentor, who has been a part time partner for over a decade and seems to love it.)
