Zero influence on me. I've always believed that these were "pay to play" lists. I'm really skeptical of how accurate they actually are and the methodology (if there is any) used to determine the best workplaces.

Since I’ve worked on them, I know some entries are pretty extensive case studies that let you see the perks offered. Winners were chosen by jury. This is not always the case.
No, I've never paid attention to things like that. I guess I've become cynical, I always assume that those kind of awards aren't quite on the level.

When you clicked the really nice award banner my team designed 😉, they usually linked to the entry listing company perks. There are some where you do just pay for a place on the list.
Doesn’t influence at all. They’re pay to play. One of the bigger surveys gives the award to any employer who can get 60% participation in the survey, regardless of the sentiments expressed in the survey.

I did say that they are a revenue source. Makes you wonder why companies make the investment.
