Hello ZSers,
I have been shortlisted for AC role and my HR discussion is scheduled next week.
1. Need some insights on the maximum and minimum ctc (fixed and variable) that can be offered for 3 yoe (all relevant) . My current ctc is 7.2 (6.5 fixed) . Tech stack - Big data and AWS developer.
2. Is there any joining bonus. If yes , what should be the ask.
Any inputs will be very helpful for me to go with my expectations to the HR. Thanks!

I've always really struggled with this too because I hate kiss ups. Flattery has never been my strong suit but I think it's because I'm deeply committed to being honest and genuine. Why should those qualities (which are arguably more important) be punished?

I feel the same way, being genuine and honest should be valued, not penalized. I’d rather be real than fake any day.
I have experienced this a lot at my current company. I refuse to kiss anyone's behind. I am going to get there by merit or I won't get there at all.

Love this mindset! Respect has to be earned, not begged for.
You have to look at yourself in the mirror everyday. Do not compromise you personal integrity for anyone, I left my last job for that very reason. Got passed over twice for a promotion and then ended up having to teach things the person promoted to be my boss. I stayed the first time because there was nothing local that paid as well. The second d.time I took a pay cut and added an hour commute but now I am appreciated.

It sucks getting passed over, but sounds like you made the right move, being appreciated makes all the difference!
I'm glad to see this is happening at more than just the company I work for. Its incredible how some people can do so little and still become AGM when I've been there over a year , I tell them their job, I don't understand how these lames can be advancing and not know their job description. I feel you. I don't understand it either.

It’s wild how some people move up without really knowing the basics, while others grind for years and barely get noticed. Frustrating for sure.
Honestly I can’t say it better than how this person, Charlie Houpert, does in this discussion. I always kind of wondered what the deal was with this issue and this video really broke it down and also had a lot of great wisdom and knowledge to go with it.

Yep, this one really cleared things up for me too. Charlie’s insights are always on point.
Does being good at your job exclude you from getting along or being professional with "everyone".
I'm more concerned of those that don't work half as hard and get away with it and me having to pick up the slack and guess who remains coasting at that job.
