I'm kinda tempted to take this stance. What are the worst things that could happen to me if I did?

Well, there are a lot of things to consider if you did stop paying and the loans defaulted. Credit score will take a huge hit, which will be an issue if you try to pay anything big. Potentially could have your wages garnished, and tax refunds can get held as well. Actually, that happened to a friend a while back.

Your credit score will probably sink and will be a big default leading to your wages sinking as well

I have an offer and want to negotiate

1. London base salary but I have to absorb all the expenses (train + stay)
I am thinking to negotiate to

2. home base salary and have my expenses paid for

I know that's depends on the amount I have to travel (and potentially stay) but at the moment this is unknown. Past 8 months was just twice a month + 2 nights stay.

The only thing I know is it won't be every week, the return trian ticket is about £80-100, depends I could plan ahead.

Additional Posts in Student Loans

I have a 25K loan from my MBA. I paid off 100k whole, after graduation. 3 years ago, I moved my loan from federal to private ( SOFI) account. I recently lost my job. I have applied for unemployment, as the severance that I received will only cover for 2 months. Together my husband and I used to make less than 250k after tax. Now, with a loss of pay , we are going to make less. Do you think I will be eligible for Loan forgiveness?
