I am lateraling because my firm has forced us back into the office 5 days a week. My office isn’t super social and we are all slammed, so going into the office consists of sitting alone in my office, just like I would at home, except I wasted an hour getting ready and commuting, am in uncomfortable clothes, and am less efficient. I am actually miserable sitting alone in a cold, drab office as opposed to hanging out in a beautiful home office with my dog. People in power: take note.

"So, what do you do for work?" I hate this question! How do you explain consulting to people outside the industry in a way that sounds interesting and isn't the conversation-killer that it always becomes when I have to answer this? Or, maybe consultants really are boring and there's no hope?
