I'm starting a new job with a F500 this fall. It will be my second job ever and I'm wondering what I should actually wear. I'm picturing button-down shirts with tailored pants or shift dresses... dressy, but business casual. I'm secretly hoping I can wear comfortable flats or even nice sneakers. Is professional attire still expected in larger organizations, or have things gotten more relaxed?

My guess would be that the atmosphere is fairly professional. When you interviewed you should have gotten some indication of what the company culture and style would be. In any event, it's good to overdress at first and as you read the room you can make adjustments. But you don't want first impressions to be that you showed up underdressed.

Congrats on the new role! From what I’ve seen, most F500s have loosened up on dress codes. Business casual is usually the standard, and as long as your look is polished, flats and even clean sneakers can work. I’d say start a little dressier your first week, then see what your team and leadership wear.

I would overdress and gauge what you can get away with.

OP, what are you wearing? How’s it going?

Ok, my favorite singer comes THIS WEEK for an interview ❗❗❗
I'm excited about the opportunity of proving my capabilities, but I also don't want to miss the chance of getting a picture or maybe an autograph.
Is it ok if I ask for it? Or is it too invasive?

I was approached on LinkedIn for an early career recruiting role in DFW, TX. I don't have direct experience, but I have the university experience/connections from working in career services. This is the first time I've considered work outside of higher education. I said my salary expectations are minimum $90k and that didn't seem to be an issue. Am I asking too little, too much? How can I know I'm getting the best salary and not just settling at the low end of the range?
