I’m wondering if we need to tell company/PPMD the expected due date when telling them I’m pregnant. My due date is 2 days away from the client 10K filling date. I didn’t want to work busy season hours right before labor (very stressful and expected to work 60-70hours per week) So I’m planning to take time off using PTO from 36 weeks which is 2 weeks into busy season and doable for me. I’m worried they think it’s too early and ask me to work till later( I’m the lead manager on this account).

Your health and your baby’s health should be prioritized. Working 60-70hrs a week could also lead to preeclampsia so I would strongly advise against working through busy season. And just as a side note, if they were to do layoffs nobody would think twice about letting you go just because you’re having or have had a baby. Just communicate early and let them
Know that due to medical reasons, you’ll be starting your maternity leave at 36 weeks. They can figure out coverage.

Definitely tell them the due date and have a plan in place starting at 36 weeks, just in case.

Are you in the U.S.? If so, what state? NJ and CA, for example, have paid leave 4 weeks prior to due date (not a ton of $$ depending what your income is, but protected and paid).
And..you absolutely should feel zero guilt about taking whatever time you need before and after birth. Protect yourself, stress affects baby.
For my first, I had 3 projects’ final readouts the week of my due date. I thanked my lucky stars that my son decided to come spontaneously 3 weeks early. Those last 3 weeks would have been beyond stressful. It’s like he knew to make his appearance when he did!
