Why would you cut your time??? Unless you’re literally like taking time away because you’re on the toilet for a long time or are staring into space doing nothing for several minutes then no. If you’re working you’re working. Let the partners cut the billing. Partners don’t cut their billing because they choose to take forever printing out documents then hand marking them and scanning them back in instead of learning how to work Word and PDF so why should you? Likewise… the argument can be made that if you ever work from a laptop or from a single monitor computer that you’re adding time to produce a document versus two screens so you should cut time… when does that argument end at that point?
Don’t cut your time, the partners can handle and will have more context once you are comfortable sharing about your pregnancy. If you feel like things are slipping or you just have too much on your plate it may be helpful to find a trusted person at your firm/on your teams to connect with to see if you can reduce your workload (understanding you may not want to tell anyone in the first trimester). Good luck, and also congratulations it’s an exciting time, even though first trimester can be so rough!
