I am really against workplace surveillance. It gives me the feeling of not being trusted and overly conscious. But I will listen to this one. Thanks.
I see where you’re coming from! Productivity looks different in various sectors and roles. But let’s be honest… there is a level of distrust that exists between an organization and their workers (time is money and ppl are expensive!). Working in HR, I’m not doing my job well if I’m only engaging with a computer for 8 hours.
However, if they want to incentivize my version of productivity, I would be happy to oblige them 🤓.
Oooh interested in listening to this one. I've read some really interesting takes on workplace surveillance lately, and though it hasn't changed my mind (I personally think workplace surveillance is pretty much wrong across the board). I really think it's interesting how much it's started coming up in society and in our industry. Times are changing.
Company and HR claim they do not surveil employees, but I am sure they would if they felt it necessary.
