What are your thoughts .... just curious
Hi fishes! My spouse is planning to go to India but we would need to get her visa stamped before coming back. I see that getting appointment is such a huge problem right now. Can we get her visa stamped from a different country? In this case, we were considering Qatar, she grew up there and has her brother there. For what it’s worth she qualifies for Dropbox in India. How do I find out if Qatar works in our case?Deloitte

Contact whoever is organizing the institute and ask which training you should attend and if there will be training specifically for aide's because it is not listed in the schedule. It doesn't hurt to ask. They might assume incorrectly you would know to attend any special Ed training. Or they are focused on certificated training and not considering that even though aides are classified they work closely with teachers and have instructional duties.
What I’m upset about is not knowing what classroom I’m working in for the school year yet or what teacher.
Sometimes it is just a lack of communication because districts have sections with own unions: certificated, classified, administration.
I am also a special education aide, I can definitely sympathize with you. I feel like aides are not seen as the professionals that we are. Paraprofessionals are hardly ever acknowledged by admin and are frequently taken for granted. What people don’t realize is that schools could not operate without paras to help meet the needs of students.
