Hi to all the mamas who have been laid off! I’ve been laid off since the start of this whole mess and wondering what other mamas (especially the single ones like me) are doing/thinking/feeling about their next steps? Just looking for some comrades here as I’m feeling a little daunted at the fact that no one is hiring right now. Anyone need any score work/music for their projects? At this point, I’m super happy to do spec work just to keep busy and feel creative still.
I got an email from a Cybersecurity Advisory Partner with the subject "Catch-up". Last week we all rolled-off from project abruptly b/c the client terminated the contract. Am I getting laid off?
Ever had a client email your leadership team and specifically request they give you a higher raise and bonus, because they were so happy with the delivered product? Did your leadership team give you anything other than a pat on the back? I really need to get into independent consulting so I can finally get paid what I’m worth to clients
Is anyone looking at upgrading and spending a fair bit more on rent? Given our wfh realities for the foreseeable further? I currently spend 2500 per month... but looking at going up to 3500-3700 and getting something real nice. I’m justifying the added cost which largely covers the other cost of fuel, transport, eating out at lunch etc. thoughts?
If I make $122,500 salary and my bonus is anywhere between $20,000 - $52,500, what should I be doing in terms of 401k contributions. I know I max it out to the $19500 limit but I think my strategy needs to change compared to my salary when I first entered the workforce (2014 $75,000). Do I decrease my Roth contributions, do I avoid it all together or do I actually increase my Roth...kinda just brain friend but thinking about it.
What’s the lowest I can put down for a second home/mortgage? I plan on renting out my condo and buying a second home to live in. Can I finance it as a vacation/second home?
I’m super interested in types of people who project a certain image of wealth and then are secretly in debt, or “save” money by buying cheap and poorly made items therefore confirming that the excess spending we see is just for image. Does anyone have any book or podcast recommendations to learn more about this?
Not sure if this is a confession but I need to get it out there. I’ve been applying for a new job for a little over a yr (off and on) and stills cant get past the application or HR calls. Any advice?
New to investing - I have about 10k in 401k default 2065 retire fund. Planning to open Roth IRA and contribute 6k. Not sure about which investment to choose for Roth IRA? Any advise is appreciated?
I'm five years into public accounting audit (S3 almost M1) and I'm interested in transitioning into industry. What accounting positions should I be applying for?
To all you lovely 🐟, what was the craziest thing that a candidate did/say when you were interviewing them?
Got a potential client looking for a steady rate of return with a no loss guarantee for legacy. Anyone know of any companies that offer annuities for a 87 year old?
