Depends entirely on the school and what you want to do after. A top 20 MBA might be worth the debt for the network, recruiting pipelines, etc.. A lower tier school with no real plans on how to utilize it probably wouldn't be. Not to me, anyway. I just paid off my student loans two years ago and am not doing that again unless it results in a guaranteed salary hike.
You have to seriously consider what doors the MBA will open before you decide. If it’s holding you back, then yes, absolutely do it. If you think getting an MBA just automatically makes extra money, it’s not the case, unfortunately. Has anyone here gotten one and then regretted it? I have a friend who does, and it’s been a cautionary tale for me.

I think certain programs are worth it - if you go to a school where they are affiliated with companies that look for interns and have programs then absolutely - the compensation will also be worth it. But if the school doesn’t have connections then I wouldn’t agree that it would be worth it
It really depends on what you do after. If it's just to go back to a regular HR role, then it's not worth the hassle. But if you want to pivot to an industry that require more network, more knowledge, more credibility, then go for it. But in today's economy, MBA graduates do not find work as easily as they used to 10 years ago (and stop believing those schools when it comes to salaries after an MBA), If you don't have a job lined up after (If its what you want), you'll struggle like the rest of us.
