Does anyone feel that the Oil and Gas industry is the most discriminatory industry of all? They won’t even look at resume without O&G experience! It does not make sense to me as I would rather teach someone the specifics of an industry if they were a good fit. And for an industry that has so many obstacles from Government, Environmental Organizations and so on, why they are adding more bad publicity to themselves is not a great approach.

I’m investing all my retirement (401k, Roth IRA) in a s and p500 fund (FXAIX). Thoughts on if this is wise in the long run vs just using a target date fund?

What % of your gross income do you all put into savings?? I have my 401k at 6% (or whatever the min to match is) and then immediate put about 20% straight to savings. Young, but worried for future!

Been living in a luxury building for about a year and start noticing that I have a mild cough when I’m in the building. Thought it’s just something residual after my cold but then I went for a week out of town and it disappeared completely only to start again when I got back and stepped into my building. I’m trying to break my lease. I have notified the management company of my intent to do so in writing. They are just refusing to respond and keep ignoring my follow-up emails. Do I have any recourse? Can they physically bar me from leaving?

PS: I have legal cause for being able to break the lease and I know that there is zero legal recourse they have.

We also both took parental leave and taxes weren’t taken out of some of that pay. Also, need child credit for said child who the IRS doesn’t know about yet.
