Is it a a good offer / rationale for a lateral move ?
EY PARTHENON D2 210 base, 25k signing bonus. TECH/Software PE VALUE CREATION group (new group - started 6 months ago under software strategy group). 0-40% performance bonus. Currently at Strategy& at M1 level with similar base and bonus structure within the Enterprise functional strategy group. Main rationale for the move is to be closer to PE Value creation (for a shot at potential PE ops exit) and build a niche in an area

Seems like a new group that solves the problems from a more functional standpoint (e.g., sales efficiency, pricing, product feature usage etc) vs the tech stack merger etc.

In person or hybrid? I thought EYP value creation was under Deal technology group . Did they merge with SSG ?

If I get laid off, I have a previous colleague that started a cybersecurity company. I would love to get involved on the business side of it. Any pointers on skills that are attractive in this realm for a startup? Would be mostly (if not all) federal defense contracting clients. I’m currently in Deloitte’s cyber risk practice but my background and passion is in accounting and finance, and business operations. Graduated in 2017 so still early career.

While I did my internship at the high school level, My first two years teaching were at the elementary level, teaching bilingual/ESL. While it is a big change, I am very excited. What tips do you have

In the hallway having a conversation in Spanish with another Spanish teacher, a staff member shouts out to us, “speak English, this is America.” I stopped and asked her “really?” She said “I don’t understand it,” to which I said, “we weren’t talking to you, you don’t need to understand.” To make it worse, this is the second time she has said this to me. What could I say next time so she never tells me this again? I heard she has told other kids this too, we have a very high ESL population…

How many days does it take to hear back for a final round of interview from KPMG.

How do you deal with a manager / junior partner who is always nitpicking and questioning why you did what you did, or telling you what you did is the wrong way to do things? It’s generally prefaced with them only doing this to help you grow, but has the exact opposite effect on me. And then when you try to explain your POV, you’re tagged as being defensive. Generally ends me with saying I’m sorry. No other partners at the firm have ever raised any concerns on my communications or work product.

My natural instinct is to assume rejection if I have conflict with a partner or don’t think my feelings are reciprocated. I’ll try to bring it up with them, but I’ll say “if you want to end this feel free” so it doesn’t hurt me (and they can say what they really mean instead of sugarcoating). Someone told me today that they just assume I’m not interested because I always seem to “run” but I’m not sure how to bring up problems/feelings otherwise. How do you approach these hard questions?
