Is it standard for employers to contact your old managers/supervisors from your previous companies, even if you don’t list them as a reference? Or are reference checks usually just 3 the people they ask you to list and/or basic employment date verification? Are they also verifying the bullet points you listed on your resume (like your job description, etc.)?
