Hi fishes,
I’m a fresher and have recently completed my internship as an Operations manager at Amazon. I am currently looking for FT opportunities. I came across and opening at Maersk for the role of Business Analyst. Could anyone refer me for the role or maybe point me to a suitable opportunity?
thanks!

I’ve done it!
My partner is an attorney and loves their firm and is treated very well. Definitely a fluke, sorry you had to go through that!
I had to quit the day of without notice to my old job because of the no competition clauses with a new company I got hired at, it was VERY satisfying
Pretty standard in the trading world, the idea is you have sensitive competitive market data that will become stale after the garden leave.
omg can i get more details? is this an ad agency? I am subscribing to this drama

I’ve done it. Went from a clean record to a “final” warning because I applied to move to another department. I received an external offer and gave my 2 weeks. The HR team tells me I’m not eligible for rehire until I make it 12 months to clear the final warning. Bet.. here’s your company equipment. Toodles!
With policies (politics) like that, it’s a big sign the company either doesn’t want you and knows you are smart enough to leave, or they want to break your soul and want to know if you are dumb enough to let them.
Lmao I recently left all my company property at my desk, emailed my resignation and never came back. When they fire someone they don’t give notice, so I refuse to give notice to a toxic work environment and hate my life for the next 2 weeks.
I have only seen it once. I know there’s a courtesy 2-week notice, but a lot of employers are just so unbearable that I don’t blame people for walking out.
Been around the block with that. Some bosses suck and don’t deserve the courtesy of a 2 week notice
Happens all the time on manufacturing production floor. They were just “going to the bathroom “.
In high school, I worked retail as a summer job. A new floor associate started her first day that morning and my boss jokingly said to her “you better come back after lunch!”
She did not.

Yep, company bonus on a Friday, Monday someone left their equipment w IT and bounced without a word to anyone
An account manager at one of the agencies I used to work at.... She was always super friendly and generally seemed to love her job.
One day she walked past me toward the door, didn't say anything, and never returned. Someone told us she had a mental breakdown but she looked just fine walking out that door. Honestly the environment was toxic so I would guess she just had had enough.
She now works as a librarian, and I'm pretty sure she loves it.
aw I kinda love that for her
Yep. One day at the call of the list in criminal court, after trying to talk sense into a client, one of my coworkers walked into the court room, slammed his files down and waived at us and said, “I’m out. Good luck.” And walked out of the building.
He came back like a month later.
Manager Strat
If you are indigent and are appointed a public defender, you get a public defender. It’s never the same one at each court stage - in cities they do vertical representation.
So yes. He could because he was a public defender.
If he had been a private attorney, I can tell you what would have happened after. The judge would have told some poor overworked and overwhelmed public defender (i.e. ME) to speak with the defendant and “resolve the matter.”
I’ve done it. I had manager scream at me in front of of everyone for something that I didn’t do. I went to lunch because I needed to breathe then I came back and said I quit. Walked out and it felt great.
Did it 20 years ago October with an abusive boss. He thought he was going to yell at me for a mistake that his law school colleague made in response to a motion for sanctions (his managing attorney). He thought he’d do that at 6PM. I was getting in my car and he called me back to yell at and degrade me. He was (and still is) a solo-practitioner who lied and cajoled his way into and through every municipal contract he had. He claimed he was the fastest growing small firm in (insert Northeastern State), but really he just ran through people every six months. I walked out one month before my wedding. He thought all that slick talk and abusive language was going make me work harder than I already was. I handed him my keys and walked out.
I cried the whole way home. He tried to call me the next morning probably hoping I’d beg for my job. I rolled over and went back to sleep. A few months later, I found the job I’ve been at for over 19 years that has allowed me to travel, train, and build lasting professional relationships.
this gives me hope if i’m ever in a toxic situation and need to leave, that better things will come ❤️
I worked in a very toxic environment. My boss loved to yell and make everyone miserable. As usual, there was a crisis with a client to solve. There was always a crisis with almost every client. I decided that I didn’t want to solve problems that could never be solved for this employer any longer. It was never appreciated anyway. I quietly gathered my keys, bag, and coat then slipped out without saying a word. I left everything else there. In that moment I was 100% done. Driving away was epic. One of the best days of my life.
Apparently before my time there was an intern who didn't handle critical feedback well. One day after being told something she didn't like, she grabbed the hard drive with her work files on it, and just bounced.

That couldn't have ended well for her
I did it once. While I was being “trained” the trainer said, “Oh and btw “, if the cops come in here and want to take the hard drive, trip them so they fall and the equipment goes over the bridge into the creek.” That day a cop walked in and a work release guy who was *supposed* to be working there and wasn’t said, “are you looking for me?” The cop said, “No, should I be?” They saw nothing but a$$ and elbows from me after the cop left.
Wait….. what????
Had a disagreement with an employee that was 25 years older than me when I was GM at an industrial supply company. Told me he wasn't going to listen to a young kid my age (22) and stormed off. Good riddance, I was about to fire his @$$
CS1 - I don’t care how much experience the individual in question has. Taking OPs post at face value, there’s zero reason to refuse to listen because of someone’s age and “storm off”. If the employee really does have a plethora of professional experience, they’d have likely, in the most extreme case, politely submitted a resignation following your assumption they didn’t need the job. I’m assuming you’ve rarely worked with folks doing manual labor or skilled trades based on your response. The vast majority are great people. A small minority didn’t take career growth seriously for years and are bitter they are old and busting ass to make a living, working for, many times, someone substantially younger. My point stands.
My dad owned a company and let someone go and the guy straight up punched my dad in the face. Turns out my dad was kind of 💩 so he probably deserved it. But this guy was a legend in office lore.
I’ve day dreamed about doing that every few weeks for nearly five years now.
Our president of the company did this 😆
I worked in the AP department. One of the new hires (~2 months) was having a rough morning (I think one of our vendors was being particularly ornery with him) and he went to lunch and never came back.
Rumor has it his dad is a partner with PWC and he ended up getting a job there...
