I don't have hard facts, just anecdotes from friends who are currently out of work. Many have been looking for 5-6+ months without being able to find anything. That, coupled with the terrible jobs report and all the dour economic headlines, makes me believe it's going to be difficult to find anything in the next 6 or so months.

Yeah, I’ve been hearing the same—longer searches are unfortunately common right now. The headlines and job reports definitely don’t help morale either.
In tech, I’m hearing around 6 months. Even with that depends a lot on where you are and what specifically you are looking for. I know people who have immediately found a job, and then others looking for a year. It’s crazy out here, but worth it to look around and try if you want to find something else.
Rising Star
This matches what I’ve seen too—it’s so variable. Some people get lucky and land something quickly, while others are in it for the long haul. “Crazy out here” is the perfect way to put it.
I've been job hunting on/off for 18 months. Enjoying down time and traveling but applying, interviewing, jumping through hoops, and being rejected is exhausting.
I have been trying to network and gather referrals. This is a really tough job market to be looking for a role in. I have been looking for six months and still can't find anything.
Rising Star
Networking and referrals seem to be the most effective strategy right now, even if it still takes time. Six months sounds exhausting, but you’re definitely not alone in that experience.
This is what I was unfortunately expecting - thanks y’all and good luck to us!

Good luck to you too—it’s definitely a tough climate, but knowing what to expect helps with planning. Fingers crossed for better momentum in the months ahead.
I know people who have been looking for work for over four months now. But another friend found a job after six weeks.
Rising Star
Exactly—it’s such a mixed bag. One person waits months, another lands something in weeks. Timing and fit seem to play a huge role in how fast the process goes.
Rising Star
This is such a real question right now. From what I’ve seen, timelines are stretching longer than they used to—sometimes several months—but it really depends on the role, industry, and how much networking you can tap into. It’s definitely worth starting sooner rather than later if you want something within the next year.
