I was on the same page as you since I was not happy at my ex-company. It was a stable job though. But the pressure was so much that I voluntarily resigned and looked for jobs . Landed better offer in 2 months. But always pushed to expedite the interview process. There is a lot out there. Keep applying.
It can't hurt to see what else is out there. I'd try to focus on bigger companies that might offer more stability/security in a volatile market.
I wouldn't jump ahead and quit you current job yet. Apply, go on interviews and see how successful you are or what offers you can get and make your decision from there.
I would start looking and applying, but continue working. It can take upward of anywhere from one to six months to find a new job, especially if you arent willing to relocate.
It wouldn't hurt to hunt around for a bit. Start applying while you're still in your current position and don't put in your notice until you have an offer in your hands.
