Sometimes I think education would be a good fit for me (like a unit educator role, not a nursing instructor). But then I think about all the paperwork and clerical stuff and it scares me away.
The paperwork can't be that bad! I've thought about going into teaching. I still might someday.
I'd love to move into a coordinator type role, but I also love working with patients. I don't know. I'd be torn. What about you, OP?
I made the move to coordinator years ago and I love it! Lots of contact with families/patients. Lots of face time and phone time with patients. It’s been an amazing career path for me! I’m now the manager of the coordinators and I still get some patient time which is awesome and get to be a resource.
I live in Dallas, Tx. I have 9 years bedside staff nurse in trauma ED/ surgical services, and charge nurse. I’ve been doing contracts the past few years so I’ve become accustomed to 120-130k. Just wondering how big of a drop in pay I’m looking at, and does this career give opportunity to build back up to mid six figures?
I left bedside for home health IV infusions and I LOVE it. I see the same pts every week because they require this med for the rest of their life and it only runs for about 20-30 minutes. So easy and they pay well! And you see the pts so much it feels like family! I also work at a holistic office doing vitamin IV and that’s great as well because the environment is very positive I love it.
hmm never considered this, but I'll look into it!
I'm hoping to move towards remote case management, but I heard it can be stressful as well.
