How much do CSOs in big ad agencies make?
“Reflecting on and adopting the use of micro-affirmations would be a positive strategy to prevent microaggressions. Micro-affirmations are small acts that foster inclusion, listening, comfort and support for people who may feel isolated or invisible in their environment. Focus on action, not avoidance – create new good behaviours.”
I'm going to sleep. Good night, everyone!

I am so sorry you are not feeling the back to school joy and excitement. I have had years when I felt that way too. It was hard to get started, but once I got back into the routines, I found my rhythm and the year went well. Maybe it would help to put up some fresh decorations in your classroom, pick up a new first day of school outfit, and plan your first day out. Procrastination makes the negative feelings worse for me. Jumping in and crossing things off the to-do list makes me feel better. And if you can, treat yourself to a mani-pedi or new haircut or something else just for you that makes you feel good.
My attitude about school and work got so much better when I learned to balance work and life, and stopped making my whole life about work. I am a better teacher because I don’t bring work home unless I really need to and I leave work at work. It helped me recover from burn-out and find my love for teaching again. I hope you find your positive feelings and get off to a great start!

Thank you for the positive feedback. I really have thought to change my room around and redo a couple bulletin boards.
We officially start tomorrow (Wednesday). Getting out in June and going back in July is ridiculous!!!!! I don’t know how they classify that as being a 10 month employee when we don’t get 2 full months off!
Here’s the bigger picture: when I was in school we got out in June (2nd week) and went back after Labor Day. Teachers were able to actually have a vacation! And the test scores/performance of students was far better than it is today! We all learned how to read and do math, as well as understanding science and social studies. We had lunch and then recess- all the way through 8th grade. Today we do research based teaching (you can make ANY research look favorable!) and if they are doing research on that, then why are our students doing worse in performance?
2 things need to change: parents need to start parenting and students must be made accountable for their own actions and quit allowing parents to dictate punishment when accountability is trying to be taught! Kids need to be made to stay after school to finish work not completed as homework, and disturbing parents to come pick up their child because of it! Homework is a MUST! Education must be the priority with sports as secondary! Law suits should not be allowed when teachers are doing their best for each child, working day in and day out for their students!
Things do need to change drastically in education! Maybe disbanding the Education Department can be a good thing 😞🙃

We definitely need a change! Kids need to face consequences for their behavior, and parents need to be more responsible for making sure their kiddos learn to be respectful.
