Which is more useful in a HRBP role…data analytics or project management?

Any CPAs out there that decided to buy and run a business? Curious if my theory that after advising businesses how to run efficiently and effectively, that I could fairly easily deploy this experience in an existing business. Obviously I'm not ignorant that there will be obstacles to overcome but ultimately think it would be successful. For added context, I have an MBA, have focused of business development so understand sales and dealing with customers.

Do you typically apply to jobs that you have are missing some of the qualifications for? For example: Is it acceptable to apply for jobs where you have 70% of the qualifications? Where is the % threshold of not getting considered?

I recently interviewed for a position I was excited about. I like my job but this position seemed like a great fit. I met with five different individuals including a partner. Everyone was extremely nice. I received positive signaling and found out almost a week later that I didn’t receive the position. I have absolutely no idea why. Is it typical for companies to make you go through so many different interviews only to reject you?

I have been increasingly given more responsibility and even more side projects. I have also been proactive and searching for internal positions that fit my skill set. My remit quadrupled+ in a recent re-org with no increase in pay/promotion, my new director is new to the company and was zero help, and I was passed over for recent promotion during the comp cycle. The new director essentially began shutting me down any time I ask for clarity in my career progression. Now they have taken credit for the project I’ve been building over the past year+ without giving me props whatsoever to higher ups. What is the best plan of action here?

What would u do? 3 YOE HCOL city and I have 2 potential options:
1) move to a boutique healthcare strategy consulting firm in a similar role as I have now (client facing consulting role).. 120-130 base + 20% bonus
2) a product specialist role at Meta (FB). This told role product management, it’s analytics heavy. $107k base, 10% bonus, $30K stock.

At the end of the day, TC for both is similar. As far as exit opportunities I’m not sure what is better, so looking to get other people’s opinions.

Why are few companies not moving away from SAS?

Hi all, I have a question regarding retirement accounts. I am not sure if I should choose a Roth or 401k (company has 4+2% match). Currently 23, base salary is ~100k and investments have brought 45k this year which has me teetering between a 22-24% tax bracket. Wondering what the usual tax bracket is of people retired (around 65yo) as I’m not sure anything would bring in significant income with the exception of investments. In my case would a Roth make sense? Appreciate any answers!!

After spending 4 years as a mid-level ops manager, I tried to break into HR through talent acquisition. Now after 6 years in TA, I've had a hard time getting out of it. My goal was always to get into a more broad HRBP position, but I've since worked for smaller orgs without a solid HR career path. When I ask about my career goals, they keep telling me, "Soon!" Or "Maybe in 6 months!"
