Welcome to the Republican Party! Limited government FTW!

No conservatives believe in limited government, they believe in government that doesnt help the poor and the disenfranchised. Two verybdifferent things

I don’t hate this idea as long as we can also stop supporting the ass backwards welfare states of the south with our federal tax dollars.

Disagree. Please see Jim Crow for a historical example, gay marriage/LGBTQ rights for a more recent example, and the fight over abortion/reproductive rights coming in the future for real world impact of what happens when states have final say on how individuals can lead their lives.
If your only response is "leave your state", I certainly hope that wouldn't have been your response to a gay person before Obergefell, or to a black person before the Civil Rights movement
Yeah but all of those are now established at the federal level - they can't be reverted by the states individually
Here’s the problem. The federal government is the only authority on money printing. States will never be able to afford programs such as free colleges are free healthcare through taxation. Middle ground could be the federal government giving each state a block grant based on population with the states free to spend as they wish

SC1 – that’s not a problem, that’s the point. Federal government should not be in the business of controlling healthcare and education!

I would prefer fair and equitable treatment for everyone, but barring that I’d be fine with letting people who choose to live in Mississippi and the like deal with the consequences if the rest of us can continue to make progress.
