If I had to deal with someone telling me that I'd try not to laugh out loud. And I'd avoid asking him why he was so insecure. I've had people try to bully me and I just act like I'm not noticing.

Right?? I mean why are you so interested to tell me that you are lawyer. Did you think I would be intimidated about whatever you are? I wish I could show him my expressions over the phone.
"I'm sorry to hear that. I'd like to help, but without more information, I'm unable to." If they still don't cooperate, tell them to have a nice day and that you'll be ending the call.

That is the best solution and I feel like people over the phone have this advantage where we can get rid of these types of customers easily.
I once was witness at work to a guest telling a co-worker who they knew , tossing about that person's name as if that would entitle them to what no one would be getting whatever their title in life was.
It was hysterical to hear that co-worker one up the titled customer not by naming the managers name as the customer did to get what they felt they were entitled but in saying in front of who THEY as one
That worked there KNEW
Even higher up than the manager whose name was
Being tossed about by the titled customer.
That name my then co-worker said back was and I quote was "well, I know Jesus".
Pro
Well I have not had anybody using someone else's name to get whatever they want but I do receive calls from our company' employees and if you tell them you can't help with their issue, they would be like,`but , I am an employee'. I always them that when they are customers, rules are same for everybody.

Classic move—thinking a title makes them untouchable. I usually stay calm, stick to the facts, and don’t let the threats rattle me. Energy’s too valuable to waste on someone who’s clearly just trying to scare you.
Kindly tell him to have a good day & let hr know.
