Is it normal for a Product Owner to lay out specs for how a feature should work?

I thought that was my job as the ux designer to figure out the best way to solve a need. But I’m getting handed projects where the PO, and sometimes the senior designer has laid out exactly what should happen (components used, flow, etc) to design a feature. It’s really frustrating because I don’t know if I’m supposed to be speaking up on what I think or just do the UI work I’m asked to.

Hello everyone! I am a Judicial Law Clerk, which I have been for a little over two years now. However, I’m planning on moving into the AML/Compliance realm. I have a background in finance, having been a Finance Disbursing Officer in the Army for 6 years with one deployment in that role. I'm almost done with my master's and right now we are discussing the knowledge gap that happens in 4th grade with our lower-class students. They know or have the skills for how to read (for the most part) but seem not to be able to comprehend what they are reading due to the fact that they don't have background knowledge like their upper-class peers - which is due to life experiences. Have you noticed this in your classes? I have but didn't realize why it was so hard to catch them up.

I’m a cradle Catholic and my faith has been a big part of my identity. I’ve been a liturgical minister, altar server, lector.. I’ve regularly gone for Catholic retreats, adult Catholic education etc. - all this to say I’ve been pretty serious and invested in my faith
However I’m having a crisis of faith right now. I’m appalled and embarrassed by the way in which the Catholic Church in America (where I now live) is IMO unashamedly political (cont.)

I think I may have finally had it.

A couple of decades in this field and now I want to just walk away. The grind in tech is soul-destroying, and the vast majority of the time, coworkers outside of UX have no idea what it is, what it’s for, and how it’s applied. I’m at my wits end and the constant problem is a kind of “willful misunderstanding” of our process and value.

After wasting too many years on design immature companies, It’s senselessly depressing. I’ve given away too much of myself.
