EY feels kinda...cheap. Are the other B4 like this?!

For those that have big 4 and MM FDD experience, what’s the difference in hours? Did you like one more than the other? Salary range for seniors?

I got rejected for an interview from Big 4 NY Audit, even had referrals from Manager + level people. 3 years w/ audit senior at mid size firm, 2 years fed tax at big 4, and 1.5 years Internal Audit healthcare. Currently self employed for a year to work on investing. Do I literally need a partner level referral to get back into Audit? I thought there was an accountant shortage.

Are there any roles in Big 4 for Computer Science majors? Not looking for tech strategy or implementation etc which don’t need hardcore CS skills.

Which B4 has the best M&A Tax department?

Will most of us (big 4 employees) be in at least the 200k+ salary range once we hit our late 40s and early 50s? I know that MOST of us won't stay with our firms, but does that mean we stagnate?

Spent the pandemic working on myself, got sober, focused on working out, left the music industry and started a career where I can make money and have a steady work schedule. Hi background in audit and soc compliance now working for a non-public firm but delivering support to the auditors. I passed CPA and have audit experience but I don’t really understand how industry accounting cycle works :( What does it mean to close the books? Are they referring to 12/31 deadline? Do all JE have to be recorded within this date? How does one close it?

Unfortunately was dragged into an audit despite the fact I don’t work in audit. Why does audit RM say yeah your hours will be 50 hours/week when you’ll have to work way more to do the audit. Seems very dumb - if you have work do it, if not don’t work…
