I've been pretty busy doing my own thing while the rest of the world was hopping on and off the whole AI train. I guess I would just listen to what's going on and be unbothered. I'm finally feeling ready to give it a shot... what's the coolest thing to try in the AI world right now? I have a lot of interests, so it can be anything from music all the way to AI tools for scientific research. Let me know in the comments!

I would start with taking trainings to understand the fundamentals of AI before diving in and just throwing garbage into an LLM.

Great point

The future is here! AI is the future of work. Better to jump in now, firms are preparing as well

I've been playing with Suno so much. I had a lot of poems written down for my daughter, and I pretty much just feed it the lyrics and it spits out pretty impressive songs. I have so much fun with it. Don't know if that's something that's up your alley.

Do you then read the poems or does it provide audio as well?

Best free course with a cert. https://www.databricks.com/resources/learn/training/generative-ai-fundamentals

IBM’s is free too, but 10 hours. https://skillsbuild.org/adult-learners/explore-learning/artificial-intelligence

If you've ever had an idea that you want to see come to life, it's never been easier with AI tools like Claude and Lovable

Agree on studying the art of promoting and understanding machine learning fundamentals as a good foundation. If you want something frivolous and fun you can make a song with https://www.udio.com

Hi all!! I am a first year master of urban planning student with a focus in economic development, spatial planning, and geospatial analysis and visualization (GIS, SPSS, R). I know guidehouse has a pretty robust state and local government consulting arm (and I would love to hear from any GH employees), but what other firms have strong local and state government practices? Does anyone work in this arena and would be willing to chat with me? Thanks so much!! Enjoy your Saturday 😊

Does VP or SVP really mean anything in Talent or Business Affairs? Does it actually bump salary up significantly or does it just mean a free parking space that no one is using since we’re WFH? Genuinely curious as I see some people with VP or SVP that have less experience than many with just a Sr title.
