What restaurant chain is better in your opinion? I am partial to Applebee's but I seem to be in the minority here.

buffalo wild wings is the best and it's not even close. It's the only chain that I genuinely enjoy eating at

For work? High-end steak houses are usually awesome for amazing tips and being treated well. You sort of worded it as a place to visit, however. In which case, I'm heading to Canada and going to Smoke's poutine 😂

like

Don’t. Find Highend

applebee's is great after having a few drinks at the bar but you wouldn't catch me sober there lol

You mean to work or to eat? Either way my answer it very much not applebees

i would never work at applebees if given the option but I guess it's not the worst place out there

The higher end the restaurant the more money you’ll make, especially once u get moved up to bartender/ server. If you’re starting at Applebees, fine, but as a hostess, u should be able to get a job basically anywhere. Go to a higher end restaurant, chain or not. Applebees is gonna be a dead end, money wise.

What does better mean? Are you talking about income to be made and tips? Career progression? Are you talking about places to go eat?

How do you handle meetings outside your working hours? I work for a company on the opposite coast (in the US) with some international employees and meetings are often scheduled between 8pm-10pm my time. This is my first time not working for a company HQ’ed in my time zone. I typically have family and personal obligations in the evening, and the past six months have absolutely eroded my mental health and ability to manage my own personal life and relationships due to such a chaotic schedule.

How much weight do you give Glassdoor and other employee reviews? In the process for a referral interview, looked on GD, and the company had a 2.9 with 0% approval of their “young CEO”. Flags included toxic culture, overworking employees, smoke and mirrors hype. It is an agency startup though, so a heavy workload I feel is common. It’s also closer to the field I want to be in, but does not sound like a coaching environment. Should I go forward or just politely decline?
