I’ve had recruiters tell me I’m “too senior” for roles I’ve applied to. Usually ones below my previous level that I went for because I need work. I understand their concern about retention, but being unemployed for months feels worse than taking a step down in pay or title. Sometimes I’d rather get back in the door, rebuild momentum, and worry about leveling up later. What's your take on it?

I need to identify an educational problem relevant to my educational setting (ECE-8th music at an urban public school) and analyze existing data that is relevant to the problem in order to draw conclusions. I recently had a specialist partner send me a fairly nasty email after I (a transactional first year) was told to ask them to review something ASAP that had clearly been on my partner’s radar for over a week. I have a question, I got a contract role through a recruiter. Initially the recruiter offered the hourly pay rate which was the minimum in my range. Now I got an offer from the company. Now without me asking her she increased the hourly wage to the maximum range I asked. Which makes me doubt if the company increased it or she knew the rate all along but gave me the lower rate ?

I've been an individual contributor for 4 years in Tech, have 8 years of experience total. I'm finding it difficult to make the management transition despite having management experience, performing beyond expectations, and having a genuine passion for enablement and development.
