You almost always have to jump to a new job to get a decent promotion in this industry
Raise??? hell try being a vendor to add agencies we make 30% less than we did in 2007
…I’m just happy I’m still employed at this point
I never even expect 2% tbh so when it happens I just say “thank you plz don’t lay of me “
My average time between raises is over four years.
what was your starting if i can ask? and agency if we’re really feeling transparent
Without a promotion, 3-5% is the standard if you’re doing a good job. It’s a little low but not out of the ordinary
Unfortunately yeah. Most agencies don’t do yearly raises, and when they do give raises they are at max 5%. My biggest advice is to push and ask your manager, be prepared with lists of what you’ve accomplished.
At your level I suggest jumping around to get salary bumps - I jumped every 2 years-ish and would get at least a $20k salary bump every time.
Normal for all agencies. Not just Chicago and not just big shops.
Yeah expecting a raise every year in this industry is going to get you nowhere sadly.
