Recently obtained my aPHR and I’m considering next steps in advancing my career. I am eligible to sit for the SHRM-CP presently and will not be able to sit for a PHR until 09/2023. Any pros/cons with either certification? Should I wait to sit for PHR or go for SHRM-CP now?

I'd go for the SHRM-CP since you are eligible. Who knows what tomorrow will bring? At least you'll have some credentials to show for it sooner rather than later.

Thank you for the response! You are absolutely correct: who knows what tomorrow will bring.

If you’re studying for the SHRM test, you’ve got to start thinking like SHRM wants you to think. Real world does not apply in some situations. Get the study books and most importantly, take the quizzes over and over and OVER. Good luck!
