I recently interviewed for L7 EM at Google and had 4 great interviews and one not so great system design. I submitted external referrals all of which gave great feedback. The recruiter said the next step is team match/interviews and then the HC. Anyone in a similar situation? What was the result? Google

I think it depends on what task I'm tackling. While I would prefer to work on the actual work, a lot of it is communicating and getting on the same page with other departments. That is the part I like the least, to be honest.

Yep, i can see that in my own job too
I would say 50% of my job is actual work and the other 50% is expectation management. I feel like I do a lot of communicating and spend a lot of time in meetings.

A decent amount. My boss tends to be a little "pie in the sky". I constantly find myself having to reign him in, which is kind of hilarious given he's 15 years my senior.

Yeah that's a really good point actually. Setting expectations early and communicating well can really help in the long run.
