Joined Ford almost a yr back.

Read these things & blindly compromised on nearly 4 lakhs & joined for lesser CTC:

- Good WLB
- Job security
- Annual variable payout (80-130%)
- Good work culture.

1 year on, now, I regret my decision.. Daily, I'm sitting for more than 10-11 hrs. No proper timings, tons of meetings during odd hrs; there r very very few companies who don't give any gift for Diwali - Ford is 1 of them. No gifts fr Xmas / New yr too.

So today was my first day on a stimulant (diagnosed as an adult), and everyone says its suppose to feel like *boom* magic, or normal (?) , I guess. Knowing that is figurative, what should I actually be expecting? I feel mostly the same, I think, though I came in and actually did started my work today. But I mean, somedays I do that...I just don't want to psyche myself out if I'm expecting too much. Or pscyhe myself in if I actually might not be experiencing what I should.

I'm an introverted person, like to keep to myself, focus on work, spend the rest of my time on family, gym etc. I've been told that I need to work on my communication and client relationship building skills. any books I can read? I don't follow pop. culture anymore, no longer actively follow team sports (but sporty myself) as I consider it bread and circus for the masses and don't rly enjoy work drinks... Am I doomed? Personally I am happy and love the work but fear for my career progression.
