Saw this somewhere and chuckled because it accurately captures the experience of many.

What can you do? You need to prove yourself commercially and professionally first and fast. Commercially - prove that you are self sustainable and bring in new businesses
Professionally - show that you have the consulting toolkit and can speak MBB language (hypothesis driven approach, answer first, day 1 answer / hypothesis, etc.). If you don’t, no one will want to be staffed on your projects and will quietly look down upon you as a sales guy who didn’t grow up in our system.

You may find that some people will be reluctant to work with you. Find a senior partner that can bring you in to opportunities. The success rate for lateral hires is much lower than organically grown talent.
