Just another weekend where it feels like big law is ruining my marriage… I hate this job so much some times.

Honestly you have to set boundaries to protect your marriage. And if it’s your job or your marriage - leave.

Sit tight and plan your exit. Your marriage is worth more than a big paycheck.

Maybe I’m wrong for assuming that you’re in a heterosexual relationship but I feel like men are way less understanding than women when it comes to demanding jobs.

I’ve definitely felt like the job puts strain on my marriage sometimes but I feel like it would be easier if the roles were reversed.

You make an insane amount of money, if it’s not worth it then leave.

Yeah my partner is used to me working a lot and is very supportive (that said, I’m at a more chill firm that some of the folks on here, not sure how he’d feel if I was billing 2300 a year), but if I never logged off for 4-5 hours on a weekend for quality time he’d definitely get frustrated. You can be a good biglaw lawyer and block off blocks of time to be with your family.

Cannot recommend leaving enough.

When I conceived my second I was working such terrible hours and my marriage was in such a rough place because of it my husband actually asked if it was his. We are working parents, but he was the primary parent for my oldest because of my hours, sometimes not getting home til 3a then back at the office by 8a.

Leaving big law was great for my marriage and my mental health.

Huge proponent of it.

My colleagues
Just to put some intro
I am 22 years after college experience and worked in consulting for 15 years and currently in industry for 7 years.
My long term goal is to go back to consulting more of a business advisor from a strategy perspective
Here is my question
Would MBA be any good for me especially looking at strategy side?
I don’t want to spend $200K and would probably go online MBA in a mid tier school. Are those any good?
Looking forward to your great input on this topic

28M. First time solo travel 3 week trip to Spain coming up. Flying Royal Air Maroc from US. They’re allowing 2 check in bags and 1 carry on. However, I want to travel light and am trying to avoid check in bags completely. What carry on backpacks do you recommend to buy that would be enough for 3 week trip but also be allowed as a carry on? Also need to buy packing cubes.
